Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Bogor’s Rainbow Hills Golf Club has been rewarded for its extensive renovation by being named Best Golf Course in Indonesia.
The culmination of the hard work came at the sixth edition of the World Golf Awards in Abu Dhabi.
“We are honoured to receive this award,” said Widya Tirta Putra, Deputy General Manager at Rainbow Hills, a Golf Course Facility Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
“It is a proud achievement to the management team and staff at Rainbow Hills for the effort over the last four years to revitalise our club. It is our aim to keep improving to provide better services and golfing experience,” he added.
An hour by road from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, the 27-hole Rainbow Hills is a golfing haven, boasting a stunning setting in the highlands of the Bogor region.
Winner of a host of awards, the original 18-hole Mountain-Forest layout at Rainbow Hills was sculpted by J. Michael Poellot of the JMP Golf Design Group and opened for play in 1995.
It was in early 2015 that the Stone Hills nine, designed by JMP’s Bob Moore, was completed. Dramatic elevation changes are a feature.
Over the past four years, Rainbow Hills has been rejuvenated. Following the opening of the Stone Hills Course, renovation was carried out on the Forest and Mountain courses as well as the clubhouse.
By the end of 2016, a new and exclusive VVIP compound named The Pavilion was unveiled, while late last year renovation of the Terrace Restaurant was completed, making it more spacious and comfortable.
